Welcome message and auto role
Greet new members automatically and give them a role as soon as they join.
Usually the bot’s role in Discord sits below the role it should assign. Here’s how to move it up in a few clicks.
Discord only lets a bot assign roles that are below its own highest role in the role list. This also applies if the bot is an administrator. It also needs the “Manage Roles” permission; “Administrator” includes it.
This affects the auto role, the role after captcha verification, reaction roles, level roles and Assign role on open for tickets. The same rule applies to muting and kicking: the bot can’t punish members with a higher role.
Open Server SettingsDiscord
Click the server name at the top left and choose “Server Settings”.
Open RolesDiscord
Choose “Roles” on the left. The most powerful role is at the top of the list.
Find the bot roleDiscord
Look for the “Asward-Helper” role. Discord creates it when the bot is invited; it has the same name as the bot. If you invited your own bot with the bot personalizer, the same applies to its role.
Drag it upDiscord
Grab the bot role with your mouse and drag it above the role the bot should assign, for example “Member”.
SaveDiscord
Click “Save Changes” in the bar that appears at the bottom.
Check the permissionDiscord
Click the bot role and open “Permissions”. “Administrator” or “Manage Roles” must be turned on.
Check in the dashboardDashboard
On the Overview, click How to fix it in the notice and then Check again. If everything is right, the notice disappears right away. On the Welcome page, reload; there the notice disappears after one to two minutes because the role list is cached briefly.
Your own highest role is below it. The server owner can do it.
@everyone and roles that Discord manages itself (boosters, other bots, integrations) can’t be assigned by any bot, so they’re not in the list.

Put a panel with buttons in your support channel: one click gives a member a private channel with your team.
